George Harris, a member of the inaugural 1964 US Olympic Judo Team, spent time with many of us in San Dimas, California last month at the Winter Nationals. It was a shock to hear that George had an aggressive form of cancer and that he was hospitalized and had been discharged to hospice care. Fellow Olympic Teammate, Jim Bregman informed the Judo community that George passed away peacefully in his wife’s arms at 3:50 PM EST today.
