Senseis, Instructors, Coaches, Referees, Athletes, and Friends,
Please spread this news around. The IJF recently issued their list of referees that will officiate the 2009 World Championships to be held in Rotterdam, Holland.
Out of the eight slots for Pan America, our very own Robert Fukuda was listed as the US referee! Many of you know Robert as the Chief Referee or Referee Examiner for the Continental Crown Judo Tournament. He also the Executive DIrector for the USJF.
This is a high honor to be chosen to officiate this event and so we are very fortunate to have an individual of this caliber in our own backyard. Only the top 33 IJF-A referees in the world get a chance to referee the World Championships. Similar to the Olympic Games, only the best of the best work this event and so we are excited by this wonderful news!
Please help me congratulate Robert in this awesome achievement and it is our hope to see him on the mat via the internet or in photos in August 26-30, 2009!
On behalf of all of the NW Judo referees, congratulations Robert for this awesome achievement! We pledge our support to you and look forward to hearing your stories from your experience.
Attached is the complete list of referees working the 2009 World Championships.
Sincerely,
